NELSON CLUB

The Nelson Bowling Club will close its green on Saturday next, and the annual meeting will take place early next month.

Last week, in the semi-final for the Lyell Cup, E. J. Allen defeated! Catley and Betts defeated Edwards. Allan and Betts play in the iinai round. In the first of three final games for the President's Pairs Field and Crawford (s) beat Amyes and Gould (s). Harkness and Crawford (s) and Moore and Haldane (s) are left in the final for the Championship Pairs, and will play the best two out of three games to decide the winners. On Saturday afternoon the holders of the "Wakefield Feathers and the Club Feathers (both Nelson teamsj played to decide who should hold both feathers, the condition being that the winners should have the* two. Naylor, the holder of the Club Feathers, with the assistance of Jacka, Best and A. E. Cresswell, defeated Jeffreys, Field, Stiles, and Richards (s), the holders of the Wakefield Feathers. A further game for the latter feathers will take place on Saturday next between the same teams. MAITAI CLUB. On. Saturday tihe semi-final of the Feathers competition was played, when Milner's rink defeated Court's by 19 points to 18.
