TILE MAHEXO DELAV'ED. It was intended that a new staff .should be appointed when the vessel readied New Zealand. ""I was informed,"' said the Minister, "that six months' work aboard a hospital ship would be sufficient for medical men at one time, anj that then it was desirable that they have a rest. However, if any member of the staff desires to continue in the work and makes application accordingly, that application will ■certainly be given effect to. The new staff for the Maheno has already been arranged, but I cannot recollect whether any members of the present staff have been included. I am not aware that any member of'the staff was appointed to the Maheno for the whole time she is in use as a hospital ship."' WOUNDED ON RUAHTNE.
