DEPUTATION TO THE PREMIER. (United Puess Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A deputation representing the United Federation of Timber Workers waited on tho Prime Minister to-day to 'bring under his notice certain matters affecting the timber industry. Mr Yeale (Auckland) urged the establislimeiit of a State, sawmill at Auckland. Moi also urged that surprise visits should be made by inspectors at more frequent intervals, and that unfair competition was caused by importation of sashes, doors, and laths. Mr Massey said' the State sawmills would have been in operation now but for the -war. He agreedi that importation of sashes, etc., seemed unfair, and promised carfully to consider the points raised by the" deputation ~
