UNREGISTERED DAIRIES

OWNERS PROCEEDED AGAINST. (United Pkess Association.) LEVIN. This Day. Before the Magistrate, Mr. Poynton, to-dav, Mr 1L Munro, Stock Inspector, 1.7 H behalf of the Department of Agriculture, proceeded against six district dairy farmers for supplying milk for human consumption to Wellington from unregistered dairies. Mr. Munro explained that the Department brought the cases as a warning, and did not wish for a heavy penalty on this occasion. The Magistrate said he would Jet the present offenders off lightly, but future cases would be severely dealt with. Defendants were .fined ten shillings each, with costs sixteen shillings.
