NELSON POULTRY ASSOCIATION

• v ANNUAL SHOW. The heayv fain last night militated against the attendance sit the Nelson Association's Show • but fcir this evening and to-morrow a laxgfe attendance is anticipated. On all hands it is agreed that the exhibition is one of the best yet held, being thoroughly xepresntative of all sections of the fancy. * To-day the cats are on exhibition, and will remain penned this evening. They will be shown for only one day, so those desirous of seeing the lovely specimens are reminded of their opportunity. Mr. J. Currie, of Wellington, who judged the poultry, speaks in terms of high praise of what he saw ili his section, and says the show compare# very favourably with those of other centres. The Old English Game he considers exceptionally good, and not to be equalled at any • other show in the Dominion. American White Leghonis Wel'e of fine quality, while favourable comment was made on the Buff and White Orpingtons and the Hamburgs. The bantams were the best collection Mr. Currie had seen for years.

Mr H. Stairmand, of Wellington, awarded the prizes in the pigeon and canary sections. He cannot say too aeuch in praise of the Working Homers,, the quality of which he says is as good as can be found anywhere in New Zealand. Fancy pigeons, Mr. Stairmand considers, are not so good as in past years. The Norwich and Yorkshire canary classes were highly spoken of, Mr Stairmand beinor most favourably impressed with the quality right through.
