A Melbourne Press cable states that sd.J private cable announces that J. J. Addison, tho tennis player, was killed in action in France. ' Private Frank George Waghorn, of I the Canterbury Battalion, who is re- ' ported to have died of wounds received 1 at the Dardanelles, is a son'of Mr. F. Waghorn, of Ngatimoti. ' ! '. ,Aimorig the Dardanelles wounded is .Private C. B. Spencer, of .the Canterbury Battalion. Ho is a brother of Mr F.. Spencer, of Richmond, and Mr. L. Spencer of Takaka. -Lieutenant T. Messrs C. A. Hamilton., J. Dudley (of the Audit Department) and C. S. Spear leave for Trentham by to-morrow morning's steamer 'to join- the artillery sec- • t\on of the Reinfarcements. Messrs (.Hamilton and D'udley were entertained at a farewell gathering at the Nelson> <Glub last evening, and were the recipients of presentations. The Mayor made ithe presentations, and a number of patriotic speeches were made, the proceedings closing with the National Anthem, and' cheers for the enlisting members. Mention was made of the fact that the Hamilton family was well represented in: the present war.
