PETONE

WELLINGTON, This Day,

Yesterday morning Philip Cameron, farmer, residing at 194 Hutt-road, Petone. reported to the police that three members of his family were missing, having mysteriously disappeared between Friday morning and Saturday night. The missing people are: Mrs Norah Cameron ; Queenie . Cameron (19); and Donald C-ameron (14).. According to Cameron, w T ho owns a farm at Horokiwi, lie left home at 5-40 on Friday morning to work on the property. He did not see the missing people before he left; but as he occupies a separate room this was not unusual. He returned at 7 p.m., when his wife and two children were absent. Thinking they were at some pictures he retired to beef. He left the house again early on Saturday morning, returning in the evening. "As there was no sign of the family then he reported the, matter to the police. A peculiar feature' is that according to the clothing left, the missing people most have left only partially clad. Two other inmates of the house, little girls named Oundas, say that at 6 o'clock on Friday morning thoy saw the three missing persons running, partially 'dressed, on \he road to Petone. All -were b'arefoted and. very scantily clad. The disappearance is causing excitement at Petone, and developments are eagerly awaited •
