' Mr Hugo Friedlander, of Ashburton, who recently wagered £IOGO to £IOO against Mr E. F. J. Grigg on a tion raised by Mr Grigg's allegation that Mr Friedlander endeavoured to .block a contribution made by the Ashburton Racing Club to the Belgian Fund on a "technical point," has lodged his cheque for £IOOO with the editor of the "Ashburton Guardian." , la a covering letter, Mr Friedlander" states that the question at issuei is whether a resolution-,to vote money to the fund was special business, and, if so, was it a breach of the rules to deal vwith it at an ordinary meeting without notice? >
