Thero was 'again a> large and wellpleased audience at the Empire Theatre last evening, when "Orders Under Seal was screened for ithe last time. There was also shown the most interesting ot the, War Topical* yet produced, featuring the visit of King (><>orge to tie troops at Ypres. "THE MOTOR BUCCANEERS." There was another large attendance at the Lyric Theatre last evening, and the entire' programme met with a- great reception. The star drama is 'bj- ithe-fa-vourite Essanav Co., entitled "The Motor Buccaneers. 1 ' This picture has been the rage in Paris and London, and ran for three weeks in Wellington. The leading man in this piece is acted by the well-known favourite of the fans, Mr Francis X. Bushman, who is said to excel all past studies as an individual photo-player. The supporting pictures on the programme are of the Lvric's projections, being of high interest and educational merit. The leading star comedy, "One Thing After Another " by the Turner Film Company, and the lead taken by Miss Florence 'Turner, provoked roars of laughter, the interest of the .present war. is sustained bv a film 600 ft in length, showing Our Bovs at the Front-, and numerous incidents of what our heroes are doing tor the British Empire. "Hearts of Men, drama, is a subject produced by the belig Companv of players, and is set m the Wild West. "Without Pants, another diverting corredy, was also a winner. The ■ programme will be shown for the last time to-night, a complete change being screened to-morrow night. A great exclusive drama is to >be screened- at the Lyric Theate at an early date to be advertised in this paper. The picture is taken from Dumas wcrl-d-renowned romance, "Monte CfLTisto," and is 6000 ft in length, and an' exclusive masterpiece. Seats may be reserved at Hounsell's, bookseller, lor the Imperial Pictures.

THE COURT CARDS. To-morrow night, at the .Theatre Royal, the Court Cards will demonstrate how easily all the rules and dicta laid down bv such an authority upon cards as : Hoyle can be brushed aside, and how, in defiance of all precedent, all suits can be trumps at the one time and can score tricks under whatever circumstances they may be played. The Court- Cards are partial to going both "solo ' and "abundance;'' a procedure which they varv at times by producing "three of a kind," or. in the case of their fine malfe "quartet, "four card!." Though probably confusing to devotees of bridge,.- solo, oiv poller, the hands dealt per medium' -Of the Court Cards are invariably ed as trumps by the audiences assembled to watch their little game, and it- has : become a unanimous verdict wherever , the Cards have appeared that- no stronger hand in their type of entertainment has yet been dealt, to a local audience. During the Nelson season the Cards intend staging four distinct programmes, each j replete with new and original numbers secured in London only five months ago:; The Cards specialise in artistic and. humorous concerted work. ( Nothing yet put on a local stage by a similar com-, pahv approaches the merit' of • t-lieir daintilv set and costumed scenas, oi which*four, "A Drop -of Hollands, "Powder and Patches," "After the Hunt." and "Night Time.in Doll Land . . will be- presented here for the first time. • Containing bright lyrics and excellent music these "scenas" have been most favourably commented on elsewhere. The box plan at Jackson's is now filling rapidly.
