TOBACCO FOR OUR SOLDIERS

THE "MAIL" FUND. Our soldiers are inveterate smokers. They love the weed as they love their country. We hear of wounded men begging for a cigarette when placed on the operating table. We hear of a solitary "fag" or a pipe being passed round among a dozen soldiers. We read about Tommy smoking tea leaves. The French people have been very generous to Tommy Atkins in regard to "smokes," but Tommy Atkins dislikes their cigarettes. He says they have no "bite" in them. He longs for a British smoke. We ask you to help us to see that he gets it by sending just as many sixpences as you can. The destination of your parcels is left entirely to yourself. Tbey can be sent to any regiment at the Front, to any battleship, or they can be addressed to any individual soldier or sailor. Remember: Every Sixpence buys 30 Cigarettes. 2 Ozs. Tobacco. Following additional subscriptions are acknowledged : £ s. d. Previously received 124 18 10 Mr 6 Hoy 0 2 0 A. R. Dvson 0 2 6 C.S. ..." 0 2 0 Total £125 5 4
