MAITAI GLUB COMPETITION.
FINAL FOR SENIOR SINGLES 'CHAMPIONSHIP.
On the Martai Bowling Club's green last' evening what proved to be the final match for the senior singles championship was played. Four players were left, in the finals, and W. Frost, playing the last of hts three matches last evening, secured a third win, his opponent being J. Lockwood, and therefore became champion' *or the season. The runnerup is W. Simpson, who won two out of his three games, being beaten by Frost. Frost has gone through the competition without a defeat, and this is the second time he has won the singles championship. The final game was followed with interest, and at the finish hearty cheers were given for the champion and the runner-up. The green continues to be extremely lively each evening, and all the rinks' are nightly taken up with the champion pairs competition, and the junior pairs contests.
