STOKE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A general meeting of residents interested in the Stoke Fruit Show was held in the hall last night. Mr James Ohing was voted to the chair, and over twenty ladies and men were present. After considerable discussion it was ds cided that a general committee of residents of the district be farmed to hold a Fruit and Flower Show, and that the proceeds be given to a patr aic purpose. Those present formed themselves into a Horticultural Society to run tbib show andTuture shows in Stoke. A subscription for this year was fixed at men 2s 6d and ladies Is. Much eut'iusiaom was snown, which promises that t.!ie forthcoming show will eclipse former efforts, which already reached wide importance. Officers for 'he ensu.ng }*ar wt-ie elected as follows : —Patron, "Mr Jan:es Marsden; President, Mr James Chin^; Vice Presidents, Mr A. T\ Allport, Mr A. V. Allport, and Pr. Andrew; Secretary, Mr D. Wilmot, Assistant Secretary, Mr T. Scott; Treasurer, Mr A. V. Allport; Auditor, Mr A. Smith. Those present signified that they would become members of the new horticultural society: Messrs J. Cblc.g, H. Ching, J>. H. Wilmot, A. V. Allport, A. P. Allport, H. Picki-p, V. Dee. K. Tate, D. Giblin, Biggai, Edwards, Black, Kenning (2), Wichen. and L. Frost. The show will be held the second week in April and be a two days* show. The following was the schedule committee appointed : Mr Big|gar, Mr Izard, Mr "'lckup, Mrs H.
