Despite a protest by a large deputation of the Ministers Association, the City Council la*t evening granted permission to the Christcburch Orchestral Society to hold a concert one Sunday per month for the rear, the profits to go to charity. The Mayor said that concerts were uplifting and inspiring, and kept people off the streets.
