AUSTRALIAN STEAMER ASHORE
(PUSS ASSOCIATION. —GOPMUOHX.) COOKTOWX, Fob. 12. Burns, Philip and Co.'s steamer Marseina, from Port Moresby to Sydney, went ashore op D Reef, five miles south of Cooktown, on Thursday night. There is/three feet of water in the fore-peak, and the latest report says the prospect of refloating her is doubtful. It is understood that she has some troops from ,New Guinea on board.
