In reply to Mr Massey's inquiries, the Attorney-General informed the- New Zealand Government that it could have * hundred thousand bushels of wheat, provided the New South Wales Government in March next could demand to have that quantity sent back by the following July. It was explained that if the New South Wales harvest was larger than was expected the demand would not be made. The New Zealand Government replied accepting gtho terms, and asking that the wheat be sent as quickly as possible.
