INQUEST ON THE VICTIMS. JURY'S VERDICT: "KILLED BY GERMAN CRUISERS." (Received Dec. 19, 1.10 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 18. At Hartlepool,, .it the inquest on 77 victims of the German raid, the Coroner *aid : "This has brought the war home to us. Now we have romp idea of what the Belgians and French have suffered and arc suffering." Witnesses gave evidence that a shell burst in a breakfast room where a number of people were seated, and killed a daughter. In another instance a .shell passed right through, the body of a woman.' A grandfather found two grandchildren dead under a wrecked house. Their father was absent,'being a stoker in the navy. The. jury found a verdict that under cover of dense fog German ships fired sbells. killing unarmed civilians. ._ The jurymen handed their fees to the victims ' fund.
