EXCITING GATHERING AT OTTAWA

Mr Henri Bournssa, the Nationalist) Leader, attempted to speak at a theatre in this.city . An immense crowd assembled and howled, him down. Soldiers connected with the 2nd Canadian Contingent smashed doors and windows and forcibly draped the speaker's tabic with the Union Jack. They sang patriotic songs continuously. A soldier ' attempted fo compel Mr Bourassn. to wave the Hag. but Mr Bourassa, refused. There was te.niti,. excitement, -which was quelled by the intervention of the police, who were obliged to protect Mr Bonrassa. Mr Bourassa. is unpopular with both French and British owing to his attitude in. regard to the war.
