HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING
The ordinary monthly meeting of tho Nelson Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held at the offices of the Walmea County Council this afternoon. There, were piesent: Messrs H. Baigent (chairman), J. Corder, T. Hewetson, J. B. Harrison, W. N-. Franklvn, T. Bell,, G. H. Allan, \Y. Lo-:k, E. S. Hoult, and Mrs Watson.
Mr M. Simpson wrote apologising for his non-attendance, intimating that hewould not seek re-election, and thanking members for their consideration during his term of office. Accounts as follows were passed for pavment:—Charitable. Aid account £315 ss*lld; Hospital account £351 12s lOd. The recommendation of the finance committee to purchase a pair of weighing scales for the hospital was adopted. REPORTS. The report of the master of the Alexandra Home was read and adopted. The relieving officer's report was read and discussed. On the motion of Mr. Corder it was resolved that two members of the Town committee report on the quality of meat supplied to recipients of charitable aid. (Left sitting.)
