WAKEFIELD. DEATH OF MR DAVID K. HARRISON. (From Our Own Correspondent.) There passed away peacefully after a brief illness on 'Wednesday, at 9.30 a.m., a well-known and highly-respected resident of Wakefield, in the person of Mr David K. Harrison, of Lanark, Scotland, at the advanced age of 80£ years. Deceased and Mrs Harrison canie out 7J vear ago and have lived with Mr and Mrs John Gray, at "Rehoboth," where he died. Mrs Harrison is still alive, and is Mr Gray's mother. He was laid to rest in the Spring Grove Cemetery on Fridav in the presence of a large number of friends, who sang his favourite hvmns—"Jesu Lover of My Soul," and "Abide With Me"—at the grave.. Mr Logg, Evangelist, of Dunedin, and Mr x Gray, his step-son, Evangelist, of ..Wakefield, spoke at the grave. The deceased was a Godlv man, kind, cheerful, and) liked bv all/ All deeply sympathise with Mrs Harrison, Mrs Ivellman (her daughter), and Mr and Mrs John Gray. LECTURE. Miss Leslie, missionary from China, recently gave a lecture on the Chinese, the mission, and the progress made. She was listened to most attentively by the large audience. She illustrated her address by articles from China, and had a lot of curios on exhibition. She has had to relinquish her work owing to, illhealth; but still interests herself in mission work. , Mr Worlcv. of Nelson, gave an illustrated lantern lecture (chieiiy on Physiograph vi) in the Spring Grove State School'. The room wa« well filled with interested spectators., Mr A. T. White, teacher, assisted Mr Worley, and explained some of the diagrams on The Tides, Comets. The Constellations, Phases of the Moon, The Seasons, etc. A number of children were present. Mr Worley is to be commended for the trouble he tak*>s in instructing the young (and old) by means of his lantern.
