PARLIAMENTARY PROSPECTS
GOVERNMENT WILL RESUME ORDINARY WORK SHORTLY. (By Telegraph.—fOwn Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, This Day. No official information is yet available as to the. course events will take in Parliament when the work of the session is resumed, but it is certain that tho Government will make a big effort to get back to something liko normal working conditions as soon as possible. There is no intention of throwing the session programme overboard, and while some measures may have to bo postponed on account of. the war, aa much of the projected legislation will bo carried' through as is practicable, in tho circumstances. The Education Bill • is one of thoso measures certain to bo passed. On present indications it. is unlikely that the general election will be postponed. The majority of members are spending the ' adjournment period. at their hones, but Cabinet Ministers, will remain in Wellington. Should emergency arise, Parliament will be together at short notice.
The policy of tho Stato Advances Department in the conditions created by the war has not yet been declared definitely, but tho Prime Minister told mo yesterday, that the Government would do what it could, and liad no. intontion of closing down altogether on advances.
