Sausage making has been brought to a tine art in Germany, -whore no fewer than 1785 varieties of this edible are recognised. It has been said that a good German would rather invent a new sausage than anything else. A young Prussian, who. after receiving an expensive training as a chemist, instead of devising a new dye or explosive, took pork veal, olives, pepper, fennel, wine, cheese, apple 3. cinnamon, and herring's roes and from these evolved a -wonderful and totally original sausage, the best of its kind. He has amassed a considerable fortune from his invention.
