News'from St. John, New Brunswick, states that wiles of forest fires are threatening village*; along the CanadianPacific Railway. The fires are sweeoinsr tlie country bare ten. miles wide. Farmers' homes have been destroyed. There have been narrow escapes, bnt no loss of life is reported.
