Bryan, at the National and Foreign Trade Convention, warned American manufacturers that- the Government cannot assume responsibility for Americans who engage in enterprises bevond the Uniter} States boundaries. The United States would .support- citizens engaged legitimately in trade with foreign countries if an injustice was done, but manufacturers must not- expect interference by force, or men-ace of force, in other countries'' affairs.
