HIDING THE SPEAKER'S MACE. (Press Association. —Copyright.) MELBOURNE, May 28. In the Federal House Mr Higgs admitted hiding the mace, and apologised to the House. The apology was accepted. Mr Cook proposed that a committee of enquiry investigate the removal of the Speaker's Botes, which, so far,, have not been returned.
