Indeed this year, perhaps, more *lee . have teen .through this sectio than in anv previous season Although there have "been momentary fluctuations in values, these have not been particularly- marked, and on the whole value* have been eminently satisfactory, at any rate from a seller's point ot v;ew L sua'lv the entries decrease rapidly alter tne middle of April, but this season large vardings have ruled much longer than usual, and at to-day's sale there were fair offerings, although, ot course no comparable":!! point of size with those ot a couule of months ago, when there were overflowing vardings. As was the case a week earlier, wethers tormed a good xroportion of the yarding, the balance beino- made up of a shrinking ot ewes and "lambs. Most of the sheep of this class on offer were of a veTy medium class, many being in verv backward condition. Ewes certainly snowed no improvement. Indeed tiie demand, if anything. was glightly weaker, more especially for good sorts.' Quotations are: Two-tooth wethers, (mostly light and inferior), 13s to 14s 3d; two and four-tooth wethers 13s 6J to 15s. extra to 16s 2d : two, four, and six-tooth wethers, 14s 5d to 15s: four, six. and eight-tooth wethers,, to 16s; Merino wethers (verv forward), 14s 6d ; best lambs, 12s 2d to 13s lid; medium lambs, lis to lis 9d; . verv medium lambs, 10s to 10s 6a: small and cull lambs, 7s 9d ; .ewe lambs. 143 6d to 16s 2d ; wether lambs, 14s ; four, six, and eight-tooth ewes (medium), 13s lid to 14s sd; sound mouth ewes (extra good), 19s 9d ; full and failing mouth ewes, 10s to lis.

Fat Lambs. —The range of prices for fat lambs" was : Tegs, 19s 3d to 20s lid ; average weights. i7s 9d to 19s; light and unfinished, 14s 6d to 175.6 d.

Fat Sheep.—There was another large yarding of fat sheen, eleven races being v fully occupied. The quality was not up "to the usual average, ewes being in much the largest proportion; wethers maintained their values ; but ewes were easier. The range of prices was : Prime wethers, 21s to 245; medium wethers. 16s to'2os od ; prime ewes, 17s to 21s 6d, extra prime ewes to 24s 3d; medium ewes 14s to 16s 6d; aged and light ewes, lis t0.1359d. Fat cattle: The yarding in the fat cattle pens aggregated 537 head. Quotations are : Steeis. £7 to £ll, extra to £lslO i; heifers. £5 7s 6d to £9.17s 6-L extra ;; to £ll ss; cows,. £5 6s to £9 15s, extra to £l3 ss.

Store Cattle. —The yarding of store cattle was of abont the usual dimensions. Quotations are : Yearlings. £1 17s 6d : fifteen to eighteen month sorts, £3 2s 6d; two-year heiiers. £3 ss; two and a half vear steers. £5 ss; three-vear steers, £6 to £6 8s ; three vear heifers, £5 5s ; dry cows. £1 to £4 'lss. Dairy Cows.—The yarding of dairy cows contained very few of good quality, the majority being poor sorts. Representative prices ranged from £3 8s to £ll 2s 6d. extra making to £ll 15s. Fat Pigs.—There was a large entry of fat pigs. Quotations are : Average choppers. 70s to 97s 6d : overage baconers,' 48s to 555; heavy baconers, 57s 6d to 665; extra he?.vy baconers, to 70s (price per lb.. 5d to s£d); heavy porkers, 44s to 46s 6d: lighter porkers', 38s to 42s (price per lh.. 6d to 6£d). Store Pigs.—There was a gooj yarding of store pigs, all clashes being represented. The demand was not keen, and as *i result of reserve* not being reached, the passings were fairly heavy. Weaners o f . all descrintioiii were cheaper. Quotations are: I>st stores, 35s to 40s; medium stores, 23s to 34s : small stores, 22s to 2"*- weaners, 8s 6d to 14s; sows in. pig, to £4.
