MONTHLY MEETING. Following is the business transacted zii th«> monthly meeting of the Hospital and 'Charitable Aid Board after, we weut to press yesterday afternoon : COKRESPO'NDENCE. A circular wa received from the Inspector -General of Hospitals • re salaries for inursing staffs of hospital. He, also favoured a scale of salaries proposed.—Writer to be thanked and -let ter filed for reference. Mr N. iMcFarlane, Takaka, wrote re lease of Board's property.—Deferred for inquiry. NURSES' HOME. The Chairman mentioned tho questior of.the appointment of an architect foi the Nurses' Home building. There were several applications for the position, lie understood, including one from Welling ton, which he thought should be considered. Members pointed out that application had net been invited for the position of architect, and it was resolved that applications for the position be invited.
TAKArvA COTTAGE HOSPITAL. ■ The Clerk Takaka County Council ! wrote asking the Board to use its influence in the direction that a cottage hospital, instead of a nurses' home, a? ' suggested by the Department, be os- , tablished in the Takaka district. , On the motion of the Chairman, it wa-rc-solved that a committee consisting of ; Messrs Allan, Bell, Sinipvon. • and the mover report on the matter at the next meeting. Mr Allan said perhaps a combination of both e;mild be> arranged, to the advantage of the elistrict and of benefit to tho Board. After other matters had be>cn dealt Vvithj Utt Buurd- l't'cc at D p.m.
