TAUPIRI COAL MINES

AND RECENT LABOUR CONFERENCE. (Dnitep Pbess Association.) AUCKLAND. April 17. The following telegram, in reference to the recent labour conference in Wellington, has been sent to Mr Massey, as Minister, lor Labour, by the Coal Miners' Union at Huntly :—"The Taupiri Coal Mine Workers' Union emj piratically protests against any motions regarding amendments to (.lie clauses of 1 the Act that was passed at the supposed arbitration conference- held in Wellington. As this union, which is the leading arbitration union in the Dominion, was not consulted nor asked to send a consider that the conference was controlled by Federationists, who are under the ban of arbitration." The telegram was signed "S. Dickson, president; E. Maekav, Huntly."
