LONDON, April 16. The opening of the Panama Canal will make the utilisation of immense iron ore deposits at Coquimbo, Chili, a commercial possibility. The high freights lono- sea route have hitherto barred .the tra§e.

Swedish firms will construct /six of 16,000 tons each, with'exceptionally deep water ballast spaces, which will be exempted from measurement under the Canal regulations as ore bulks.
