GISBORNE,_ April 16. A Portuguese named . Nathaniel die Souza, aboj.it 50 years of age, was found ip- a dying condition at Ngatapa yesterday morning, he evidently having swulowed a dosg of poison, presumably some disinfectant.' The deceased kept a board ing-house and dining-rooms for railway workers, and was found at his resident as the men went over for breakfast, lyinv in a dying condition, and groan ing. apparently in the severest possiol? pain. is that tlie poison was taken in mistake. .SUDDEN DEATH. DUNEDI'N This Day. Robert Carston, aged 76, died suddenly at Hill Grove last evciling.
