Mr Arthur H. Wright has been aupointed an inspector of clubs for the purpose of inspecting and reporting upon ■chartered, clubs as defined by the Licensing Act, 1908.
Dr. Maguire has been appointed medical superintendent of Auckland hospital, out of thirty-seven applicants.
Tho death is reported 1 of Mr J. A. Hislon, solicitor, of Dunedin, brother of the Hon. .T. W. Hislop.
The Rev. Father Hickson, Administrator of the Wellington Roman Catholic Diocese,-is at present on a visit t,o Nelson. >
