AMUSEMENTS

FULLERS' PICTURES. I A good attendance, at Fullers' Pictures last evening witnessed the first acre-cuing of the hew programme, head--c-d by a star productioti entitled MA Sister's Ordeal.". This picture was described at some length iii our last issue, and it need only be added that it even excels expectations, and many of the incidents of this remarkable picture are almost unparalleled in previous productions. The climax is reached when the heroine i-= rescued in the nick of time from the lions' pit into which she has been lowered by the outlaws. A rope is lowered to her by the rescuers, but she is incapable of grasping It except by her teeth, and this she does, and is hauled to the surface, some hundreds of feet above, while the lion?, who have so narrowly missed their prey, gaze up at her slowly ascending bc.dy. The entire series will be shown again to-night (Thursday), for the last time, and some specials for Good Friday evening are advertised in to-night's issue. THEATRE ROYAL PERMANENT PICTURES. Another splendid programme was screened, at the Theatre Royal last ■evening, the series being headed by one of the Vitagrapb Company's detective dramas. "The Adventures of an Army Colonel." featuring the popular actor, Maurice Costello as Lambert Chase. A really excellent comic, "A Typist for the Occasion," acted by Draumea, one of the greatest French variety stars, was also screened. Other films included in the programme were : "Carbonic Acid Gas." an interesting scientific study; "Pathc Gazette, No. 190," showing the latest topical subjects; "Capturing Bear Cubs," educational; "Cowboys Mother." Western drama; "Broncho Billy's Escapade," etc. To-night the above programme will be supplemented by an exclusive drama, 3000 feet in length, entitled "Sealed Lips." On Good Friday night a specially arranged programme will be screened, including "Moses Saved from the Waters," "Ruth ud Boaz," "The Sacking of Rome." These will be supported by a number of scenic and educational items. The orchestra will be augmented by appropriate organ selections for the occasion. On Saturday, for one night only, will be screened the most marvellous of ki:>ematograph productions, "A Trip to the Sun." | COUNTRY TOUR. A special programme will be screened at Motueka to-morrow night, and on Saturday night the Nelson programme, including "The Adventures of an Army Colonel," will be shown. At Takaka tomorrow night a special programme headed by the Biblical study "The Life of Christ*," will be presented. A complete change will also be screened on Saturday night.
