FULLERS' PICTURES
One of the leading features of the completely new programme to be installed at Fullers' Pictures to-night is a thrilling Western drama or over 3000 feet in length. This him, which is entitled, "A Sister's Ordeal." depicts an active narrative of prairie life, and', despite tha fact that the taste of the general pic-ture-going public have of] late rather I turner! fiW the orthodox cowboy cktirna, :h-e local management of Fullers' feel .onfident that by its daring plot, and remarkable incidents, this picture will not disappoint any patron. The story opens where Peter, the cowboy, wins the heart of one of the daughters of a miner. The girl's father, hearing of a -old rush, decides to leave for the spot to work a claim. While, he is away he requires more money, so Peter is commissioned to carry the money to him. Whilst on his way Peter is held up by Sam who has a grievance against him. Sam and his gang, after robbing Peter of his money, lower him down in an old well. Fortunately the daughters of the ' miner have witnessed the affair, and they quickly release Peter from his awkward position. One of the girls follows Sam, and after an, exciting ride secures the- money. She makes good her escape, but is pursued, by Sam. who captures her. Binding her hand and foot, he 1 (aided by other members of the gang) lowers the unfortunate girl into a lion's pit. and leaves her to her fate. Peter and the other <;irls effect a truly remarkable rescue from, the lions, and the story, after many exciting happenings, ends in a manner satisfactory to all. Other star pictures on the list are. "The Uprising." Lnbin drama ; "Tested by Wireless," a remarkable drama by the , famed Ambrosio Company ; ""Alkali* Ike's Pants," a screamingly funny comedy by the favourite Essanay Company, who have of late provided many splendid pictures ; "Tweedledum as a Commercial Traveller"; "The Palace of Mystery"; "The King-Fisher." natural history; and many others. The above programme will l>e repeated to-morrow (Thursday) night, there being no Harmonic Society practice, and, some special items are pro rised for Good. Friday evening. THEATRE ROYAL PERMANENT PICTURES. . » Another elaborate change of pro gramme will be screened at the Theatre Royal to-night, including one of the oopular Vitagraph Company's Lambert \ Chase series, entitled "The Adventures of an Army Colonel," featuring Maurice Costello. The last man to suspect of crime is the one who is employed to protect our lives and property. Mr Morrison occupies a. beautiful mansion in a suburban town. Policeman P'rier, the night patrolman is dishonest. He enters Mr. Morrison's home and robs it. The chief of police is baffled in his efforts to detect the thief. He sends for Lambert Chase, the detective, who makes an investigation, draws his conclusions, states Kt is xii-iable to solve the mystery, and L'ives it up. Later he comes back to the town disguised as an army officer, and rents a furnished' mansion for the season. Two nights later Prier enters the •olonel's home and makes his way to the library. Flashing his lantern about he sees the well-filled pocket book of the colonel on the table. Chase has been and the moment he reaches 'out for the wallet the detective draws his pistol, turns on the electric light and holds the thief at bay. He removes his false moustache and soatee, making him?elf known. With his unengaged" hand xhe calls up the chief of police on the telephone. Other films to be shown are an interesting scientific study, "Carbonic :<o , Gas '" " Pathe Gazette No. 190," Only a Miller's Daughter." "Wiffks Chivalrous." "Whafs the Joke " Vowhoy's Mother," "Capturing Bear Cubs. "Broncho Billy's Escapade " "Typist for the Occasion." etc. On Thursday evening, the above, programme ■will be supplemented by an exclusive feature subject, "Sealed Lips," particulars of which will be advertised to-mor-row: On Good Friday night a specially selected programme which has :been approved by the City Council will be m - - sented.
