Harcourt, Secretary of State fo'r the Colonies, in reply to a question, said that he was communicating with the Governor of Fiji regarding the frequency of murders due to marital jealousy arising from the inadequate number of women under indentured immigration. The Governor said' that there were no grounds for commuting four per cent, of the sentences. Mr Harcourt did not think a special inquiry was necessary.
