CLAIM AHAINBT THE RAILWAY DEPARTMENT. (Umitbd Press Association.l CHRISTCHUTtCH. March 17. At the Compensation Court to-day. Mr. Justice Deraiiston presided, and Messrs A. Boyle and \V. J. Hopkins *at ns' assessors. L. Watson, as tnistee for H. Matson and Co., brought an action against the Minister of Railways for £1478 compensation in respect to the compulsory taking of some land at * October. 1908. For the land taken £BBO was claimed, and £598 was claimed' as subsidiary damages. The case was not finished- when the Court adjourned.
