HOCKEY
THE WAI MAI CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the Wai Mai Hockey Club was held iiVthe Co-operative Society's-rooms last evening. The president (Mr. J as. Boon) presided over the largest meeting of the club yet held. The secretary (Mr. F. Chapman) presented the annual report and balancesheet, which showed the club to. he in a flourishing condition. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr J. Boon (re-elect-ed); vice-presidents, Messrs' Trathen, Mourant, Jackson, Vercoe, and Wilkens ; secretary. Mr. N. J. McNeill ; auditor, Mr. W. Switzer: club captain, Mr. A. Stratton; selection, committee. Messrs Stratton, Bradshaw, and 'Switzer. Practice mornings were fixed for Tuesdays and Thursdays.
It was resoh-ed to onen the season with the Nelson Club (provided the latter club is willing) early in April. The secretary announced that four trophies had already been offered for competition.
Pending fm-ther infortration as to the number of competitions to be held, it -was decided to hold over the number of teams to be entered. About 18 new members were elected.
It was resolved, that the subscriptions be the same as last yojir. , Mr Boon was thanked for his gifjt of trophies to the club. After minCT business affecting the club had been discussed the meeting, which was enthusiastic throughout, was brought, to a close with the usual vote of thanks to tbs chair.
