CONFERENCE AT TIMARTJ. (tJMitao Puess Association.} TIMARU, Feb. 18. " The Congregational Uiiion Conference to-day received, deputations from the Timaru Presbytery .and the Ministers' Association with which l it exchanged fraternal greetings. The business for to-day was the reception pf the financial reports. These showed the expenses to exceed the receipts bv £55, but this had been made up by donations. The Hon. G. Fowlds was thanked for all offer of £3OO towards the eost of a meeting of delegates •in Wellington at an early date to consider organisation. The pastors' provident fund now -stands at £3897, an increase of £2lO fori the year. A request for the starting of a branch of the Church at .Ashburton was decl'.Msd, with regret fr-r financial reasons. In the afternoon two papers were read on Bible classes.
