FREE WORKERS AT GRIMSBY. LONDON WORKERS' DEMANDS. ; Press Associatiot-.. —Co^'SJiio^T.> LONDON, February 18. There are 350 free labourers at Grimsby receiving 3s 4d an hour. The styikers persuaded many to leave after drawing 27s for a day's work. Ten thousand London bakers are deinanding a fifty-four hour week and a wage of 30s in' shops, and 32s in factories. The masters will concede the demand if each man bakes ten sacks a week. The men reply that this is impossible. GENERAL STRIKE IN BELGIUM. BRUSSELS, Feb. 18. The general strike coincides with the Ghent Exhibition. " The Labour Party's organisation aims at its- lasting -for some months. Housewives are storing provisions, and prices are rising rapidly. -Tile Government opposed an attempt to compromise'. They say the threat of a strike has become a species of permanent blackmail. NORTH WALES' MINERS. (Received Feb. 19. 10-55 a.m.) LONDON, Feb.. 18. The North Wales miners decline to withdraw their notices, and a strike of 12,000 is pending.
