BUILDERS V. CIVIL SERVANTS. On the Maitai green last evening a battle royal ' wits fought between the Builders and Civil Servants of the Maitai Bowliug Club- The Builders' architect had drawn up his plans to a nicety, and the Government officials, in spite of using "red-tape" measures, were unable to find a flaw in them. Galbraith skipped the Builders, and Allan the Servants. On the 7th head 6 all was called ; on the 10th 10 all, and, on the 16th 15 all. An extr a head was necessary to decide the winners. When the skips .went down Galbraith held three. Al.an endeavoured, unsuccessfully, to alter the position with a drive. Galbraith drew another, and Allan again drove, hitting the jack; but Galbraith he'd the s'hoi ard the game. This evening the Builders, looking for fresh worlds to conquer, will play, the "Mail" Office team, which will comprise Spear, Simpson, McEachen and RichI ards (s).
