Innisfail reports a record flood, with ten feet of "water on the esplanade. Chinatown is submerged to thejroofs. The country is covered for miles, and only the housetops and trees are visible. Stock losses will be heavy. It- is not known how the residents in the country fared, owing to there be*ing' no .communication. The wharf almost collapsed. A shed was broken in halves and tons of driftwood, bananas, sugar cane, dead horses, cattfe, floated downstream. No casualties have yet been reported. The water is receding, leaving a mass of . debris along the river front and streets. A subscription list has been opened by the Mayor of Brisbane.
