AI the Supreme Court, Afbert John Udy, charg-od with destroying a house, the property of his mother, at Waihal keha (near Carterton) by blowing- it up, was found l guilty. Sentence was d-efer-red. John George Norris was found guilty of assault with intent to commit rape on s. child, and was sentenced to seven year.--.' imprisonment with hard labour. His Honour Mr Justice Chapman said the sentence would have been more severe but for the fact that people noticed the accused's suspicious actions, and intervened before he was able to cari-y out hip intention, of which there was no doubt. William Hamilton, alias Hill, was found guilty of an indecent assault on a. voting rrirl. Sentence was deferred. ' This Day. William Hammington, alias Hill, for an indecent assault on a little girl, was sentenced to six years, with four years' detention for -reformatory treatment.
