RETURNED N.Z. CADETS
ARRIVAL AT WELLINGTON. (United Pkess Association.* WELLINGTON, November 5. The Senior Cadets who represented New Zealand at the Toronto Exhibition arrived in Wellington this afternoon by the Auckland express. They were met by the Mayor and a large number of representative citizens, and welcomed. Headed by the sth Regiment Band, they marched to the Parliamentary Building, where they were entertained by the Hon. Jas. Allen at afternoon tea. After being put through some drill, they were addressed by the Prime Minister, who stated that they had bceii a credit to' themselves, their country, and the officers who had trained them. Cheers were then given for the boys. In conversation with a reporter, Captain Fullarton said the trip had been a capital one, both from an educational and pleasure point of view. Two weeks were spent at the Torotito Exhibition. They won every competition except the shooting, and the place they secured in this was equal to first in the others, as the conditions were against them. They visited Niagara Falls, also Banff. The Duke of Connaught (the Governor-Gene-ral) inspected them at Vancouver. Mr Gow, the New.Zealand trade representative, went to' a lot of trouble to entertain them. They had splendid receptions everywhere. To-morrow the Canadian cadets will arrive from Lyttelton, and will be tendered a civic and military reception. The New Zealand cadets will be present, and in the "afternoon the two contingents will give an exhibition of drill at Newtown Park. WELLINGTON, This Day. The Vancouver High School Cadets were accorded a civic reception to-day. Speeches of welcome were delivered by the Mayor and the Hon. Jas. Allen (Minister of Defence).
