' Some • caustic press comments are made on the aetio'n of the Police Superintendent watching the Langliord-Mc-,Vea fight, to see that the laws were observed. Ho twice stopped the fight for short periods, on the ground that "Langiord used the kidney punch. It •is asserted that both blows were perfectly legitimate, and well away from the the kidneys. One paper declares that apparently the Superinteiv dent does not know the difference between scientific boxing arid brutal fighting, and that his knowledge of anatomy has been sadly neglected.
THE GREYMOUTH FATALITY. GREYMOUTH, This Day.. At the inquest on the lad W. Furness. who died on Sunday afternoon while sparring with mates, a verdict was returned that death was due to heart failure through over exertion.
