The Pekin correspondent, of the "Daily Telegraph" reports that China, absolutely rejects the demands formulated by thV Powers interested in the. proposed loan of £60,000,0C0. The conditions that 1 it was sought to impose were that three European financial• supervisors" should,be appointed, and that the group of bankers must have a financial agent in China, for five months, during which time there must be no bonds issued or business, of any kind transacted that would involve the pledging of China's credit wifhoiit the signatures of the supervisors. Chinais reported to have made -a counter-pro-posal. in which she asks for only £10.000.000. The cotfresoondent of. the "Daily Telegraph" strongly protests that th- foreign prou-p is making a deliberate attempt to' srerre a monopoly, and that it is using the supervisors as a mere blind.
