FATAL MOTOR CAR ACCIDENT.

DR HUDSON KILLED

ON SPOONER'S oiAN'GE.

ul shock was given to the. community this afternoon when it became known that iDr Hudson, of Tapawera, had met his death through a motor-car accident at Spooner's Range.. The details to hand are meagre, but it has been ascertained that this P r Hudson in company with one of his daughters, was coming down this side of Spooner's Range in his motor car, on his way to Nelson. The road was slippery, and when turning a corner the car skidded and turned over. Dr. Hudson was thrown on his head' and was killed instantly. Miss Hudson, it is believed, was uninjured. Dr James Hudson, M.R.O.S . Eng. : L.S.A. Lond. ; and 8.8. Universitv of London, was born *n 1854 in London, educated at the Devizes Grammar School, andi graduated M.B. at the London University. He practised his profession in England for some time, and then went to South Africa, where he was "in practice near Kimberley for two yen--. fii-.crtly afterwards he came to New Zealand and settled, at Nelson, where he resided until taking up country residence at Tapawera some years ago. He was a- member of the Nelson (City Council from 1901 to April. 1905, when he resigned on being appointed District Health Officer for Nelson and Marlborouch. In 1886 he married a daughter of the late Rev. J. C. Andrew, of Mafiterton. For a quarter of a cenUvry the deceased practised in Nelson, but some time ago he removed to Tapawera. where he resided to the time of his death. His widow and familv will have the heartfelt sympathy of a wide circle of friends. The body was brought into Belgrove, and an inouest will be held there tomorrow morning before Mr E. E. lrask, acting-Ooroner.
