Sir Joseph Ward Iras intimated to the Governor his withdrawal from his position as Now Zealand representative on the Imperial Trade Commission. In an interview yesterday he said lie had come to that determination owing to ihc fact that an alteration in the itinerary cf the Commission had rendered _ it difficult for him to .carry out liis Parliamentary duties, arid attend to' the work i f the Commission. Though on the \-i hole, he thought that the'best alteration, if he attended the Corhmission it would involve his absence from Parliament for'•the whole of next session, and from that point of view that course was not- practicable unless he resigned his s<at in the House.
