NELSON P.U2J3Y UNION. j A meeting of tha Ma.nagenient Committee of the Nelson Rugby. Union was held last night at Stallard's room. Mr, I P. V.". Stiles (president) was in the chair, the following delegates being also present : .Messrs Baigent, Dickson, Shrimpton. Topliss. and the secretary. A letter was received from Mr. J. B. Sadd, who has been • connected with the. Union for wry many years, acknowledging his re-election as a vice-president. A letter w-as also received from tne Bush Union, Pahiatua, offering cO ; «-r cent, cf .the .gate- in tlie event- of a ler.m from here visiting tHeir district. In view of the many applications lu.m schools for footballs .it was resolved 1 ,- > a.-k the New Zealand Union for an increased grant for the. purpose of providing them. r . ' i A report-from the l Permit Committee was received. at\l it was resolved to adopt the suggestions therein with reference to the classification of players. It was resolved that Club receipt blocks for players' subscriptions must be lodtrcd w.ith the secretary by .lune 3rd. Mr. Shrimpton notified the Union that he would be unable to attend th e annual meeting of the New Zealand Union. Mr. Shrimpton hns represented the Nelson Union for some years, and general r<--/jrfet was expressed at li;s inability to act as -delegate this year. Referees for Sa'tufclav's games were appointed by the Referees' Association as follows : Senior: Nelson v. Rival (Park J.) Mr Atkinson; W'.iimea v. Old Boys' (Richmond'), Mr. B:>tchelor. ,Junit) 11 : Nelson v. Rival (Park II.) Mr Johnson ; WaiuTea v. Rover (Wakefield), Mr. Boon. Third Class : Waimva v. Rover (Richmond. 2 0.m.), Mr. Treweek.
