PROGRESS OF TLMARU. (Pfucsa Association.—Copxiuuht.) TIMARU, May 7. In the twelve months ended March 31st, 250 building permits were issued in the borough of Timaru. The scow Ng&ru, belonging to the JMaoriland Navigation Co.. went ashore when leaving Kawhia to-clay. An attempt to refloat her was not successful. Another- attempt will be made to-mor-row. The weather is calm, with a I moderate sea running ; but'the neap tides made the work of refloating the scow difficult. A MINER'S DEATH. DUNEDIN, May 7. Simmon Weatherall, who was serious- - lv injured in Craig's coalmine at Coal Oreek, beyond Roxburgh on Friday, died in the Hospital to-night. < His death was due to dislocation of his spine. A BUSH ACCIDENT. AUCKLAND, May 7. Two trucks on the bush tramway at Manunni collided with a tree on the line, and they were piled up. AWANUI AERO TOWER. AUCKLAND. May 7. Mr. J. H. Forrest (who superintends the erection of the tower and wireless apparatus at Awanui Station) and other wireless experts arrived from Rydncj yesterday. The preliminary work has already been completed. Awanui will be the first wireless station of the first class in the Dominion. i APPEAL COURT JUDGMENT. WELLINGTON. This Day. Reserved judgment has been delivered in the cases Public Trustee and Pilkington and the International Investment Co. Ltd. v. Andrews. In the former case the question was whether an adopted daughter was entitled to residuary estate. The Court held that Mrs Pilkington (an adopte<j daughter) was included, and took residuary estate. In the latter case the Court held that the determination of the Magistrate was correct, and dismissed the apepal with costs £lO. Later. The Appeal Court has adjourned till •May 22.
