A sharp advance has taken place in the potato market, no doubt due to the possibility of trade with Australia. \\ e do not, however, advise farmfers to hold, but to realise while a fair price is offering. Practically the same remarks apply to Onions, excepting that onions have already been sent to the Commonwealth. Pork is in excellent demand, and 'larger supplies are wanted. Fresh eggs are in good inquiry, but preserved are in good supply, and inclined to be dull of sa.e. Chaff* is coming in in large quantities, second-rate lots being hard to quit. Oats are firm. Wheat is steady. Pollard and bran are unaltered. Fruit.—Apples, pears, and passions are lower, owing to increased supply. Tomatoes remain about the same. Vegetables.—Good samples of green peas are in excellent demand, but recent arrivals have been of inferior quality.
