SPORTS PROTECTION LEAGUE.
MEETING IX XELSOX. A meeting of those interested in the formation of a. ibranch of tihe Sports Protection League in Nelson will tie held at the Masonic Hall social room to-morrow evening. The organising secretary (iMi'A. A. Paa.pe) will address .the meeting on thi- aims of .the League. It has been predicted that the greatest fighting organisation \ - :.>rmed in the Dominion is the Sew Zealand Sports Protection League —a federation of followers -and supporters of sport, the policy and magniture of which must appeal to even the dullest imagination. In the forefront of the League is a Board of Control consisting of Sir George Clifford, Hon. Dr. Collins. M.L.C., Messrs H. D. Bell, K.C., C. P. Skerrett, K.C., and Mr J. H. B. Coates. It is not difficult to conceive the influence the League is going to exercise in the near future. For years past the liberal-minded section of the community has been protesting individually against the extremists, and it is the object of the League to organise tile effort.
