PARLIAMENTARY' CANDIDATE CLAIMS £2OOO. (Unitkd Press Association.) NAPIER, This Day. The libel action for £2OOO damages, lan Simoson (candidate for the Hawke's Bav se-'it at the general election) versus "Tin; Tribune" (Hastings) commenced to-day. The alleged libel is that the "Tribune" published the following words: "Flafh from Candidate's Speech—when referring to another candidate this person (meaning plaintiff) comes araone you clothed with the Government Tarand. If he had his desserts he should Tiave received it before now." The defence denies that it published the j words maliciously. The case is proceeding. _
